The hotel was just fabulous. From the elite location, hotel staff, comfy beds, free breakfast …. we could not fault it. I can’t believe the amount of reviews complaining about this hotel and I’m so glad we ignored them and made our own judgement! The hotel is quite literally a stone throw from time square. Rockefeller centre up the road, Broadway is next door, Central Park 10/15 minutes… absolutely ideal. The cleaners came everyday and did a beautiful job in tidying up the room. Very friendly too. The reception staff were amazing! Hospitable and did everything to ensure our stay was satisfactory. We didn’t know we had free breakfast but all rooms can avail of free breakfast at the bar next door. Waffles, bacon, eggs, fruit, pastries galore!! We didn’t use it but we did check out the little fitness suite on the lower level which was cool. Finally, our bed was like sleeping on marshmallows. A perfect welcome home after a hectic day strolling New York City. Look, yes you will have to wait for an elevator for a little longer than expected but YOU ARE IN BLOODY NEW YORK!! it’s the same in most hotels! Embrace the gallivant and you will have a splendid time just like us.

Gallivant hotel is ideal location for E subway from JFK to 50st subway station and great for time square and shows plus good food outlets on 8th avenue recommend natural food markets for hot deli. We had no problem with the hotel room It was very clean, air conditioner fine and service was great. We had room at front so hear every day NYC noise did not bother us. I think a lot of the negative reviews miss the mark I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again

the property is located in the middle of the action being within walking distance from many popular places. housekeeping staff was nice and did a great job keeping the room clean. front desk staff was also friendly and helpful. bellman particularly was very nice handling our luggage and transportation. Best part though, hotel is right next to the Hurley’s Irish bar and restaurant which was super convenient for late dinning.

The location is perfect as you're one street away from the theatres, not just Times Square. The room is small but comfortable still and the bathroom shows to have been renovated quite recently. The cleanliness was extraordinary: things that are important were changed daily and they were fresh: towels, sheets, bathroom. We had an iron and an ironing board which were really handy. There were also the following: coffee machine, cups, sugar, coffee, hairdryer and a desk with an office chair. For those who wish to make the most out of their stay and intend to come back to a nice clean room, this is a perfect stay for a great price.

The location is excellent, provided you don't mind a bit of noise from outside. I say a bit, there was a lot, but we were tired enough to sleep through it. We had a premium room as a family of 4, room was a great size with the kids in their own room (no separating door) with a bunk bed. Mind the top bunk was pretty high and didn't look very safe so we just put that mattress on the floor.
